The Story
The Milwaukee Brewers silenced UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium on August 15, 2026, defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-1 to hand the home side a loss the DiamondIQ model had initially given just a 48 percent chance of suffering. Milwaukee did its damage early, scoring in each of the first four innings while starter Jacob Misiorowski kept Los Angeles largely in check throughout. The Dodgers finished with five hits but only a single run to show for them, as Misiorowski led all pitchers on the night with a model-estimated win-probability contribution of plus-22.9 percent.
The two most consequential offensive swings came in the second and fourth innings against Dodgers starter Justin Wrobleski. Joey Ortiz got Milwaukee moving in the second with a home run that shifted win probability 9.3 percent in the Brewers' favor, and William Contreras delivered the decisive blow in the fourth with a home run that swung the model's estimate by 19.6 percent, effectively separating Milwaukee from any serious threat of a Dodger comeback. Contreras finished as the game's top offensive performer by WPA at plus-19.2 percent with a RE24 of plus-1.6, while Ortiz added plus-7.8 percent WPA of his own. Los Angeles briefly generated life in the third when Shohei Ohtani laced a triple off Misiorowski to move the Dodgers' win probability up 12.2 percent, but a Hunter Feduccia single in the fifth that countered Ohtani's strikeout in the same frame helped Misiorowski and the Milwaukee bullpen, including contributions from Antonio Senzatela and Jonathan Hernandez, close the door the rest of the way.
